“You who remember the Lord, do not keep silent.” — Isaiah 62:6
These words were spoken by the prophet Isaiah around the 6th century BCE, during the period when the Jewish people were returning from the Babylonian exile and rebuilding Jerusalem. Zion had been devastated, but Isaiah called on the watchmen and the faithful not to remain silent until Jerusalem was restored and honored again among the nations. It was a call of faith, courage, and unwavering commitment to Zion during a difficult moment in Jewish history.
Although today Jerusalem is not devastated but strong, it is still attacked around the world, so the words that Isaiah spoke still resonate with people of faith. Jewish and Christian Zionists alike refuse to stay silent when it comes to standing with Israel.
